
Founder of Dove Pharmaceutical Consulting Inc., has many decades of research experience in antiviral drug and vaccine development, and has published over 100 research articles, conference papers, book chapters and patents in this area.
Jonathan P. Wong is an established global leader and expert in infectious disease, immunology and drug delivery. Upon received his academic education (undergraduate and graduate degrees) at University of Saskatchewan in Canada, he spent more than 30 years of federal public service working at a senior research scientist at the Defence R&D Canada, an agency of Department of National Defence, Canada. It was at his tenure and leadership at Defence R&D Canada that he successfully pioneered the development of novel antiviral and antibacterial drugs against emerging public health and military threat agents, notably liposome-encapsulated ciprofloxacin and Poly ICLC, which led to successful clinical trials. Jonathan also played an advisory role to the Surgery General of Canada, providing expert insights and medical countermeasures recommendations. He also briefly served as a head of the molecular biology group, and as the project chief scientist for the Defence R&D Canada’s Antiviral Program.
After a successful 31 years of public service career as a senior Canadian Government scientist, Jonathan moved his family to Vancouver in 2016, where he founded the Dove Pharmaceutical Consulting Company Inc. Serving as the company’s Director, Jonathan provides science-based consulting services and expertise to a number of international biotech companies on matters relating to research and development of novel drugs and vaccines, design of preclinical/clinical studies, intellectual property management and regulatory science.
He currently serves as a scientific advisor to ECG Immunitor (Thailand) Inc., on oral delivery of vaccines and nucleic acid-based therapeutics, and had served as a member of the scientific advisory board to Lakewood Amedex Inc (US) on novel therapies against multidrug-resistant pathogens. Throughout his career, he has published more than 100 scientific articles, book chapters and conference papers and abstracts, serves on the editorial boards of several international journals. He is co-inventor for more than 15 patents.
